On August 9, East River teamed up with Sioux Valley Energy, Southeastern Electric, Union County, Clay-Union Electric and Central Electric to host Ag Appreciation Day at the Sioux Empire Fair. During this annual event, the cooperatives serve a free meal to farmers and ranchers and provide electrical safety demonstrations.
This sponsorship is a great way that we can give back to our farmers and ranchers for their efforts in producing the food that we eat. This year's Ag Appreciation Day was once again a success, with 2,600 attendees stopping by for lunch.
Thanks to our member co-ops and everyone who was involved with planning, setting up, serving lunch, welcoming attendees, helping with the safety demonstrations and tearing down.
